Our Founder's Story
PART I: THE BACKSTORY
Every hero needs a villain, and in this case, it was budget and time.
Born into a family of doctors, AVALON®’s founder, Doris Du, always understood the importance of nutrition for health. As much as she valued nutrition, fulfilling diverse nutritional needs in a dual income modern family with limited budget and time proved difficult.
PART II: THE COMEBACK
Against all odds, a hero will rise.
The year was 2004, and Doris was pregnant at 39 with her second child. This is when she decided it was now or never to realise her passion to provide her family and everyone with convenient access to wholesome nutrition. Doris took the leap and quit her comfortable job as a GM of a successful TCM chain to start AVALON® on her life savings. Today, AVALON® is an acclaimed brand with over 80 awards, even managing to snag the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (SPBA) in 2018 and 2019.
