P.S. I Still Love You, Old Habits
We’re into the second week of June, but have you caught up on Netflix’s hit rom-com sequel in 2020, ‘To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You’? As you know, or if you don’t already know, its prequel conveys the story of a girl whose love letters get mailed to every single boy she had a crush on. These letters detail her unspoken feelings. Only when we pen these letters in our lives, can we reflect and find an equilibrium of peace, free of regret.
We all have a Lara Jean within us. So many unvoiced thoughts. So many phases (or boys, for Lara Jean) in life we need to bid goodbye to, but haven’t mustered the courage to. Today, we are going to talk about old habits, not boys, thankfully. It is time for a transition – we are going to help you reconcile with your old Stay-Home Habits through a series of letters, and MOVE ON from them! Let’s gear up on tactics to keep your figure at its best.
Letter #1 – Dear Couch Potato, the Old Me
First up, let’s bid goodbye to sedentary lifestyle, easily the most common factor leading to unhealthy fat accumulation in our body.
Did you know that prolonged couch-lounging affects your body’s metabolic flexibility? This leads to reduced ability to mobilise fat stores, which in turn leads to increased reliance on carbohydrate or glucose for fuel. No, this is not a slippery slope. It is a legitimate scientific warning! Staying at home has made most of us fall prone to that. Now, corrective action is needed, let’s get active instead!
It is never too late to work up the discipline to get active, be it on the exercise mat in your cosy corner at home, or hitting the tracks for a run. Pro-tip: It is easier to work on that stamina without talking to people, though. Speaking of increasing your metabolic rate, AVALON® Fat Burner Plus is a great way to begin as well. It is an award-winning weight-loss product that burns excess body fats and prevents fat absorption. Even better, this effective slimming formula supports liver, kidney and joint health, all while maintaining a healthy cholesterol and blood sugar level! Doesn’t it already scream all-in-one health?
Letter #2 – Dear Cupcake, It’s About Time We Part
Next, let’s break up with cupcakes, or rather, our insane addiction to those cute sweet bites. Sorry Lara Jean, we know how committed you are to making them.
Of course, it wouldn’t hurt to eat them, but it is critical to manage a balanced healthy diet where we do not over-indulge in unhealthy snacks. Besides taking baby steps to work out and resigning from being a Couch Potato, it is a good starting point to eat healthy. Fun fact: The best time to eat fruits is an hour before your meal, as your body can better digest and absorb its nutrients that way. Instead of munching on chips at 3pm, smack that hand and grab a bowl of cranberries instead. Don’t forget to complement your afternoon berry snack with AVALON® Slimming Healthy Green Tea – the perfect tea break combination. If you’re tired of counting calories or eating Keto, this slimming tea is the way to go; it boosts your metabolism and lowers calories intake. Not just that! This self-care tea relieves water retention and promotes bowel regularity as well.
Letter #3 – Dear 3am Alter Ego, Let’s Sever Ties
Last but not least, we need to cultivate a habit of sleeping enough. Sleep is SO important. I repeat. SLEEP is SOO IMPORTANT. I can’t emphasise more.
I don’t mean those short naps you steal on buses like how Peter Kavinsky used Lara Jean’s shoulder as a pillow. Well, they are cute, no offence here. I’m referring to those unhealthy habits of staying up till 3am instead of sleeping earlier, or short sleep durations under the ideal 7-8 hours. Fun fact: Healthy sleep promotes healthier blood circulation and reduces long-term risks of heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. Being healthier is the foundation for maintaining a healthy figure too. So, it is time to adjust your sleep cycle now!
P.S. I Will Love You, New Healthy Habits
Without further ado, I wish you all the best in adopting healthier habits for a healthier you. These tip-top ways to keep your figure at its best are good stepping stones. Thank you Lara Jean, you inspired us to reflect and move on from these old habits through addressing them in each letter. Let’s bid goodbye to them today!
